I have seen grace become law when it is separated from relational engagement. When that sweet provision of Christ becomes separated from its source, then it quickly turns into legislated good-will that is as lifeless as its less well-intentioned relatives.
When grace becomes law, people become deceived. When grace becomes law, many cry out, "Lord, Lord" and he will say, "I never knew you" ... or perhaps he might also say, "you never knew me."
